How to become a Hotel Manager?

Step1: After Class 10th: Choose a Relevant Stream (Optional): After class 10th, you can choose any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) in class 11th and 12th, though choosing Commerce or Arts might be more aligned with the business and hospitality aspects of hotel management.

Pursue a Diploma in Hotel Management: Some institutions offer diploma courses in hotel management or hospitality after class 10th. These are usually 1-3 years long and cover basic skills needed in the industry. Examples: Diploma in Hotel Management, Diploma in Food & Beverage Services, or Diploma in Front Office Management.

Step 2: After Class 12th:  Pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management:

  • Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM): A 3-4 year undergraduate course that provides comprehensive training in hotel management.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Hospitality and Hotel Administration: Another 3-year course focused on hospitality management.
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Hotel Management: A business-focused course with a specialization in hotel management.

Step 3: Higher Education (Optional):  Master’s Degree: After completing a bachelor’s degree, you can pursue a Master’s in Hotel Management (MHM) or MBA in Hospitality Management for advanced knowledge and better career prospects.
